How we handle purchase and activation data.

2. Data we collect
When you visit the website, the server may log technical connection data such as IP address, time, requested page and errors. For orders we process the computer code, email address, order ID, amount, payment status, issued key and activation receipt. The computer code is a stable identifier derived from the device identifier and product name; it contains neither the raw hardware number nor your files. Backup files, selected folder names and drive contents are not sent to us.
3. Purposes and legal bases
Order and activation data are needed to perform the contract (GDPR Article 6(1)(b)). We retain accounting data where required by law (Article 6(1)(c)). Limited technical logs are used for security, preventing abuse and defending claims (Article 6(1)(f)). We do not use the computer code for advertising profiles.
4. Recipients
Stripe receives the data needed to process payments. dhosting.pl provides email hosting, while our VPS hosts the website and activation server. The hosting provider may process technical and order data as needed to provide the service. We do not store payment card details. If a provider processes data outside the EEA, the applicable legal transfer mechanisms are used as described by that provider.
5. Retention
We keep license data while the license operates and for the period needed to handle claims. Transaction and accounting data are kept for the period required by law. Technical logs are erased or anonymised when no longer needed for security. Daily aggregate website statistics are retained for up to 400 days.
6. Your rights
You may request access, correction, erasure, restriction and portability of your data, and object where processing relies on our legitimate interests. Email support@macsnapshotbackup.com. We may ask for information needed to safely link your request to an order. You may complain to the President of the Polish Personal Data Protection Office (UODO). Deleting data needed to verify an active license may prevent reactivation.
7. Cookies and third-party tools
The website uses browser session storage to return to an order. It does not use advertising cookies. We keep aggregate counts of page views, download clicks, checkout attempts, paid orders and first activations. Counts contain the day, public page and general referring-source category, not IP addresses, form contents or visitor identifiers. They do not link visits into personal profiles. The source category for the checkout page is stored with the order. Browser statistics respect Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control. If we add such tools, we will update this policy and request consent before they run where required by law.
8. Security and changes
We limit access to data, use HTTPS in the public version and keep the private license-signing key separate from the app. We will update this policy when data processing changes and show the new effective date.
